For civil services like law enforcement, I think it is appropriate to have some sort of knowledge of social life and how it differentiates depending on the area. Sociology will get me to think more critically about people actions and if they are really at fault for being placed in a society where thats all they know. When it comes to social groups that have become a public nuisance like a street gang, I hopefully will be able to evaluate why they are violent and commit so many injustices. I will hopefully be able to relate to their problems and maybe help them out in finding a different way of life to better their future. In conclusion, Sociology will give me a broader, well rounded outlook on society. It will give me a sense of rational reasoning for peoples right or wrong doings to make me become a better, fairer officer.
